About

Hi! I am Sam Edmonds. I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2002 and have additionally trained as a dyslexia tutor and assessor. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice and the British Dyslexia Association.

I worked in the NHS Speech and Language Therapy service in Cornwall for 12 years, mostly within mainstream school and nursery settings. I set up Kernow Communication Therapy in 2013.

During term time I currently work directly for a multi-academy trust of schools. I work across the trust, helping schools to provide the most appropriate support for children with speech, language, literacy and communication needs. I have extensive knowledge and experience of a whole range of special educational needs and I maintain strong links with the NHS and Local Authority speech and language teams.

In addition to my caseload in schools, I work independently with a small number of families, offering appointments mostly during school holidays and at weekends. I can provide brief screening or full diagnostic assessments, direct therapy or advice and resources for home and school.

For enquiries about private appointments in the home please see my contacts page.
